Visible image scripted streets text stamp. Torn edge rectangle die. Stamping card Black versafine ink (or other waterproof ink) 8 x 8 papers Watercolour paints White acrylic paint Gold spritzer  Distress inks 8 x 8 craftcard card. Stamp the hare onto stamping card.  This needs to be thick enough to cope with watercolour paint.   Use watercolour paints to colour the hare.  Watercolour pencils or markers could also be used depending on what you have. Colour the background with light yellowy brown wash.  It does not matter if it is patchy!    Once the background is fully dry use bundled sage and forest moss distress inks with a stencil to create a dappled background.  I used a dissolving planets stencil by Sheena Douglas but anything that creates dapples would work. Miniature Guitar using recycled cardboard

Image
Miniature Guitar   Made for recycled cardboard   I was asked to make a special 60th birthday card for a colleagues wife.  She plays bass guitar in a band and likes travelling, flowers and hedgehogs.  After a bit of research I discovered that Gibson released a new model of bass guitar in 1961 the year she was born.  I thought a guitar case would make a great 3 d card and decided to have a go at making a model guitar to put in it.  YouTube provided lots of tutorials on making cardboard guitars.  After getting some ideas I made a start. The guitar case was made from cardboard from an Amazon box.  I covered the outside with a leather look paper and the inside with flowered paper.  I made personalised stickers to decorate the outside of the case.  One is the name of the band she plays in.  I even got a little hedgehog on there for her. Initially I printed out some front and back views of the guitar to use as a template. ...

Chronology Embossing Folder: technique 1

Chronology Embossing Folder Technique 1 I think this is a simple but effective way to use an embossing folder with craft card.  I have used a darker craft card to emboss on and a lighter craft card for some of the cogs to create a contrast. Products Used: Docrafts X Cut Tri Boss Chronology Embossing Folder Robert Addams All Occasions Dies - cogs Hunkydory for the love of stamps: Time to celebrate Docrafts Mr Wilsons Workshop Tags Rangers Tim Holtz distress ink - Brushed Corduroy Craft card A6 brown card blank Cut a piece of craft card to the fit into the embossing folder. Place the card inside the embossing folder and run through your die cutting machine.  The plates you use depend on the type of machine you are using. Using a brown distress ink highlight the embossed areas of the card.  Cut out some cogs using dies and stamp a suitable sentiment. Layer some of the dies to make them thicker and give more depth to th...

Gorjuss matchbox card

Image
Have these bits and pieces left over from other projects so thought I would try and use some up.    Thought I would try and use the two strips with the santaro gorjuss girls from 8 x 8 papers.   They are too small for a standard size card so thought I would have a go at a matchbox type card. I measured the width of the strip I was going to use on the inside and the length I wanted it to be.  This is the size of the base of the box.  I cut scored a piece of 240g card stock 11cm x 15cm and scored l;eft to right across the 11 cm side at 1cm 2 cm and then 3 cm then added on the width approx 5cm so scored at 8 cm across then 9 and10 cm.  I scored left to right across the 15cm side at 1,2 ,3,12,13, and 14 cm.  I cut the paper as shown.  Added red tape  and glue for good measure  then folded as shown to make the inside of the matchbox.  There are plenty of tutorials on you tube showing how to make a matchbox if y...
