Use watercolour paints to colour the hare. Watercolour pencils or markers could also be used depending on what you have.
Colour the background with light yellowy brown wash. It does not matter if it is patchy!
Once the background is fully dry use bundled sage and forest moss distress inks with a stencil to create a dappled background. I used a dissolving planets stencil by Sheena Douglas but anything that creates dapples would work.
Stamp text around the hare using a brown water proof ink.
Make a mask for the hare and use gold spritzer ink to create splotches and leave to dry.
Cut a rectangle of rustic or wood print paper 6 x 5". Tear and distress the outside edges. Use a torn edge style die to cut out the centre to make a frame.
Tear and distress the edges of a green patterned 8 x 8 paper
To tone the paper and pattern down a bit and give a more distressed look I roughly applied a thin uneven coat of gesso over the paper.
Once the gesso is dried fully stamp some foliage onto the paper using a brown ink. Mask the stamped foliage. Use the gold spritzer to create splotches around the edges of the paper. Then uncover the foliage and and use white acrylic paint slightly watered down to create white splotches.
I also stamped a Wild a heart sentiment onto some card which I distressed.
Layer all the elements up as shown onto the 8 x 8 craft card. I used some recycled card behind the hare picture and sentiment to give some dimension. I did two cards with slightly different results.
