Cullercoats Charms and Curios

Have these bits and pieces left over from other projects so thought I would try and use some up.    Thought I would try and use the two strips with the santaro gorjuss girls from 8 x 8 papers.   They are too small for a standard size card so thought I would have a go at a matchbox type card. I measured the width of the strip I was going to use on the inside and the length I wanted it to be.  This is the size of the base of the box.  I cut scored a piece of 240g card stock 11cm x 15cm and scored l;eft to right across the 11 cm side at 1cm 2 cm and then 3 cm then added on the width approx 5cm so scored at 8 cm across then 9 and10 cm.  I scored left to right across the 15cm side at 1,2 ,3,12,13, and 14 cm.  I cut the paper as shown.  Added red tape  and glue for good measure  then folded as shown to make the inside of the matchbox.  There are plenty of tutorials on you tube showing how to make a matchbox if y...

Mixed Media Canvas Heart You will need: Small canvas / mdf / cardboard heart  15 x 15cm Docrafts Natures gallery decoupage birds, flowers and butterflies. White gesso Pink acrylic paint Texture paste Post card and flower stamps Distressed paper Old book pages distress ink: scattered straw, pumice stone, blueprint sketch Dark brown dye ink  Cut a hole in the heart to hang it from when finished then cover front in white gesso.  When gesso is dry paint front with a pink acrylic paint - I mixed red and white together to get the pink I wanted.  Leave a distressed look at the edges of the heart. Distress a piece of paper 12.5 x 8 cm using distress inks. Stamp using a postcard image and flowers / butterflies. Twist and Pop Card  Hunkydory Paws for Thought It is worth doing a practice card so you can get the folds and construction right before making a card with your best stash. There are some great youtube clips showing how to make this card.  There are several ways to make the pop and fold mechanism.  I found this the easiest for me - but you may find another method  suits you better.  I adjusted the size of the pop and fold to accommodate the little cat panels from the hunkydory paws for thought cat and kittens luxury card kit.
