March 24 challenge: theme Stormy

March ATC Challenge
Theme: Stormy

Enjoyed this theme as it needed a bit more thought to come up with a stormy image.  Cut an ATC and a card from white card and used post it notes to mask off a moon and the landscape.

Used faded jeans and old paper distress oxide for the sky.  Rubbed some onto a mat and sprayed with water.

Dabbed the card into the distress oxide to begin to get the appearance of a storm sky.

Once this was completely dry I went around the edges of the sky using chipped sapphire and black soot to darken it and make it more stormy.

Once I was happy with the sky I started on the landscape and began by smooching it with walnut stain distress oxide.  Once that was dry I smooched it with forest moss distress ink.  Forgot to photo this stage.

I smooched old paper and mustard seed through a circle aperture to create the moon.

I then used a visible image script stamp to stamp around the edges of the sky in a dark grey waterproof ink.  I used dark grey rather than black so it was not too prominent.

I started some trees by stamping some fir trees using a Sheena Douglas stamp at the bottom of the card.  I used Forest Moss distress ink for this

I then added some more stamped trees in Forest moss using a visible image stamp

I also stamped an owl from the same set in black waterproof ink flying over the moon.

I added a sentiment to both the ATC and card to complete them.
