Phoenix card

                                                                  PHOENIX CARD.

Starting at the bottom of a piece of white card slightly smaller than A5 blend red,  orange,  blue and purple distress oxide ink.   I used candied apple,  ripe persimmon, faded jeans and .  I used a darker purple dye ink at the top of the card.

I then created clouds by painting them on with water and then removing the water by pressing on kitchen roll.  This removes some of the colour creating a faux bleaching effect.

I used the sweet Dixie Phoenix die and and cut it out twice in black card.   I layered the two die cuts together to make it thicker.   This gives it more depth on the card.

I cut a piece of white card to fit under the wings,  body and head of the die. I used red,  orange and yellow distress oxide inks to colour the card.  I glued the Phoenix die over this and then trimmed away the excess card.

I then cut out several of the Phoenix tails in red  and used these to create 'flames'at the bottom of the card. I used a clear sparkle pen to highlight both the flames and the clouds.

I trimmed the overhanging bits of dies at the bottom of the card.   I then matted it onto a piece of black card.

I then glued on the Phoenix and added a sentiment.   I matted the completed topper onto a purple A5 card.
