Mermaid card with distress ink background

MERMAID CARD The card is 8" x 4" as it was made for a challenge for a facebook group I am a member of.   I would not normally make a card of this dimension - but it actually looks quite effective.  To make the card I used the following Stamping card 8" x 3" Black card  8" x  3 1/4 " 8 x 4" card blank Distress inks: olive green,  stormy sky and tumbled glass Hunkydory for the love of stamps set with Mermaids.  Vegetation stamps that look like seaweed Alcohol pens - I used promarkers.  Glycerine Black versafine ink Black momento ink I used distress inks mixed with a tiny smidge of glycerine on a glass mat to create three bands of colour horizontally across the card.   I chose  colours that create an underwater effect.   As you can see your application of colour does not have to be perfect! Dementor shadow box card.

I love crafting and Harry Potter so am currently busy with Harry Potter related makes. I have the Harry Potter dies and wanted to start using these.  I have used the scene from the 3rd Harry Potter movie where the dementors are on guard outside Hogwarts as inspiration for this shadow box / tunnel card. To make this project I used: Dementor die Hogwarts castle circular die Do crafts build a scene spooky graveyard dies A very old worn well read copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - I used page 72 Black / grey cardstock 30cm X 30 cm to make the shadow box Three 6 x 6 papers ( I used Mr smiths Workshop papers as these are dark and grungy) Three 6 x 6" pieces of black card stock.
